Business Development RM of Taché Launches New Commercial Demolition Grant to Support Main Street Redevelopment
TACHÉ, MB — The Rural Municipality of Taché is introducing a new Commercial Incentive – Demolition Grant aimed at encouraging investment, redevelopment, and economic growth within the Main Street commercial districts of Lorette and Landmark.
The grant program will provide eligible property owners and developers with up to $10,000 per eligible lot to help offset demolition costs associated with new commercial or mixed-use development projects. The initiative is designed to support the revitalization of aging, vacant, or underutilized properties while creating opportunities for new businesses and services within the community.
The program is intended to stimulate development that contributes to a vibrant local economy, including retail, restaurant, office, hospitality, service-based, and mixed-use projects. By assisting with demolition costs, the RM hopes to remove barriers to redevelopment and encourage investment in key commercial areas.
“This incentive is another step toward strengthening our Main Streets and supporting sustainable economic growth in both Lorette and Landmark,” said municipal officials. “Redevelopment of underutilized properties helps attract new businesses, create jobs, and enhance the overall vitality of our communities.”
Funding for the program is limited, with only two properties eligible for approval in 2026. Interested applicants are encouraged to discuss potential projects with municipal staff as early as possible.
To qualify, properties must be located within the designated Main Street commercial areas of Lorette or Landmark and meet all program requirements.
